The Pittsburgh area is currently experiencing its sixth consecutive day without measurable rainfall, with the dry spell expected to extend through Saturday. According to CBS News, a blocking high-pressure system is maintaining the dry conditions, keeping rain at bay. High temperatures today are forecasted to reach the mid-70s°F (around 24°C), accompanied by low humidity and light easterly winds at 5 mph. The region has recorded only 0.34 inches of rain over the past week, and while Western Pennsylvania is not currently classified under drought conditions, nearby areas in eastern Pennsylvania, Maryland, and West Virginia are. Rain is anticipated to return Saturday evening, persisting into Sunday before another dry stretch begins.
