Greater Baltimore Cultural Alliance to Cease Operations Amid Funding Challenges
The Greater Baltimore Cultural Alliance (GBCA) has announced plans to shut down due to financial difficulties. The organization, which has supported arts and culture in Baltimore for 25 years, cited funding cuts from the National Endowment for the Arts as a significant factor. Despite efforts to adapt by reducing staff and programming, the GBCA found its current model unsustainable. The organization has been a key advocate for the arts, managing programs like the Baker Artist Portfolios, which will now be supported by another entity.
