Gran Canaria Swim Week Aims to Strengthen Position as Europe's Premier Swimwear Event
Gran Canaria Swim Week (GCSW), held from June 24 to 27, marked its 30th anniversary with significant changes aimed at reinforcing its status as Europe's only specialized swimwear fashion show. Minerva Alonso, the minister for Economic Development of the Cabildo de Gran Canaria, highlighted the event's strategic date shift from October to June to align with international fashion calendars, such as White Milano and Momad. This move is part of a broader internationalization plan to enhance the island's reputation as a swimwear hub. The event also saw the introduction of a new commercial showroom format to facilitate direct interactions between buyers and brands, aiming to boost sales during the event. GCSW continues to foster alliances with international fashion councils, including the European Fashion Alliance, to bolster its global standing.
