Brazil's 2025/26 Corn Production Estimate Rises Amid Improved Weather Conditions
Brazil's corn production estimate for the 2025/26 season has been increased by 2.0 million tons, reaching a total of 136.0 million tons. This adjustment comes as a result of favorable weather conditions in the southern safrinha area, which have helped to offset losses in the northern regions. Over the past month, rainfall in the southern areas, including southern Mato Grosso do Sul, southern Sao Paulo, and northern Parana, has exceeded historical norms. Despite some areas experiencing very large hail, the overall impact on corn crops was limited. The improved weather conditions have led to a positive outlook for corn production, with Conab and the USDA also increasing their estimates to 140.2 million and 135.0 million tons, respectively.
