Liechtenstein Government Reports Cyberattack on Anti-Money Laundering Data Register
Liechtenstein's government has reported a cyberattack on its register of economic beneficiaries, which holds data on individuals behind companies and foundations in the principality. The breach, which occurred during the night of July 30, 2026, affected approximately 31,000 legal entities. The government has stated that there is no evidence of data alteration or deletion. The register, established in 2021, is part of Liechtenstein's efforts to combat money laundering and terrorist financing. A crisis team, led by Prime Minister Brigitte Haas and Justice Minister Emanuel Schadler, has been formed to investigate the breach and notify those affected.
