Beverly Grove Faces Flooding Due to Burst Pipe, Disrupting Local Services
A burst pipe in Beverly Grove, Los Angeles, caused significant flooding early Sunday morning, affecting local traffic and water services. The incident occurred near the intersection of San Vicente Boulevard and Lindenhurst Avenue, with flooding reported at 4:48 a.m. Crews from the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP) responded to the scene around 6 a.m. to address the issue. The eight-inch cast-iron pipe's rupture led to the closure of San Vicente Boulevard between Lindenhurst and Orlando avenues. Repairs are expected to be completed by 2:30 p.m. The cause of the pipe burst has not been disclosed. This incident follows a series of similar occurrences in the Los Angeles area, including a major water main break in West Hollywood on July 16, which resulted in the closure of Sunset Boulevard and displacement of residents.
