Medicare Costs Skyrocket, Projected to Surpass Social Security Funding

The report notes that Medicare Part B premiums have increased by 10% in 2026, marking one of the largest hikes in the program's history. The report attributes the rising costs to the high expense of healthcare in the U.S., which is significantly higher than in other developed countries. The report also points out that Medicare Advantage plans, while popular for their additional benefits, are more expensive than Original Medicare, contributing to the overall cost increase.
