Yuma, Arizona Tops List of Sunniest Cities in the U.S.
A recent analysis of annual sunshine hours has identified the 20 sunniest cities in the United States, with Yuma, Arizona, taking the top spot. Yuma averages an impressive 4,015 hours of sunshine annually, equating to about 11 hours of sunlight per day. The study highlights a strong concentration of sunny cities in the Southwest, with California leading the list by contributing five cities. Despite its nickname as the 'Sunshine State,' Florida only places two cities—Miami and Tampa—on the list. Other notable entries include Boise, Idaho, as the northernmost city, Denver, Colorado, ranking 11th, and Honolulu, Hawaii, at 15th. The findings underscore the dominance of the Southwest in terms of sunny weather, with a few exceptions scattered across the country.
