OpenAI to Provide EU Access to New Cyber Model Amid Anthropic's Holdout
OpenAI has announced plans to grant the European Union access to its new cyber model, GPT-5.5-Cyber, which is a variation of its latest AI model. This decision comes as Anthropic continues to withhold its Mythos model from the EU. OpenAI's model will be available to European partners, including businesses, governments, and cyber authorities, in a limited preview capacity. The European Commission has welcomed OpenAI's transparency and is in discussions to ensure close monitoring of the model's deployment to address security concerns. Meanwhile, Anthropic's discussions with the EU regarding Mythos are ongoing but have not reached the same level of progress as those with OpenAI.
