Thailand's TH-AI Passport Project Set for September Launch Amid Legal Clearance
The Ministry of Digital Economy and Society in Thailand is preparing to launch the TH-AI Passport program by September 1, 2026, following the clearance of final legal hurdles by the Office of the Attorney General. The project, a significant AI initiative, aims to provide nationwide access to artificial intelligence tools. The revised agreement for the project introduces a pay-per-active-user payment model instead of a fixed fee, and mandates the platform to support full concurrent user capacity. This initiative targets a broad demographic, including students, workers, and public officials, with a focus on first-time job entrants. Despite opposition plans to file complaints with oversight agencies, the ministry remains confident in the project's transparency and value.
