President Mnangagwa Appoints New Seven-Member Broadcasting Authority of Zimbabwe Board
President Emmerson Mnangagwa has appointed a new seven-member Board of the Broadcasting Authority of Zimbabwe (BAZ). The new board is tasked with overseeing the regulation, development, and growth of the country’s broadcasting sector. The appointments were confirmed by Mr. Nick Mangwana, the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services, who stated that the board members were appointed in accordance with Section 4 (2) of the Broadcasting Services Act (Chapter 12:06). The newly appointed members, who will serve a four-year term, include Tendai Jennifer Mandizvidza, Godfrey Mutobaya, Magna Mudyiwa, Caroline Makoni, Cloud Nyamundanda, Chief Serima (Vengai Rushwaya), and Prime Kufakunesu. This appointment comes at a time when the broadcasting industry is experiencing significant evolution due to technological advancements, digitalization, and an increasing demand for diverse media services.
