Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve Announces Temporary Closure for Multi-Year Improvement Project
Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve in San Diego is implementing a temporary closure for all visitors starting Tuesday as part of a multi-year improvement project. This initiative, according to California State Parks, aims to upgrade utilities, replace a restroom building, and enhance accessibility within the reserve. Phase two of the project will commence on Monday, leading to the closure of the reserve for vehicles, and the Lodge and Trail Interpretive Kiosk for the season. By Tuesday, the entire reserve, including the Beach Trail Staircase, the lodge, both upper parking lots, and all trails, will be inaccessible to the public. The reserve is projected to reopen in March 2027. Despite the reserve's closure, Torrey Pines State Beach and its north and south beach parking areas will remain open to visitors. California State Parks expressed gratitude for visitors' patience and support during these critical improvements, suggesting that individuals explore other state parks in the vicinity.
