Opzelura Cream Approved in EU for Moderate Atopic Dermatitis
The European Commission has approved Opzelura (ruxolitinib) cream for the treatment of moderate atopic dermatitis in adults. This marks the first steroid-free topical JAK inhibitor approved in the EU for this condition. The approval is based on data from the Phase 3b TRuE-AD4 study, which demonstrated significant improvements in clinical signs and symptoms of atopic dermatitis. Opzelura was well tolerated and showed efficacy in patients who had an inadequate response to other topical treatments. This approval provides a new treatment option for patients with moderate atopic dermatitis, offering an alternative to traditional corticosteroids.
