China's MIIT Inspects Nio, Chery, and JAC, Extending Scrutiny to Anhui Car Plants
China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) has conducted on-site inspections at Nio Inc, Chery, and Anhui Jianghuai Automobile Group Corp (JAC) as part of an ongoing review of the auto industry's quality and safety standards. The inspections, which took place on July 30-31, focused on the companies' product safety assurance capabilities and production consistency. Inspectors randomly selected sample vehicles and power batteries for testing to ensure compliance with national standards. This move follows similar inspections in Guangdong at GAC Aion and Xpeng, indicating a broader campaign by the MIIT to enhance production consistency and quality in the automotive sector.
