USDA Warns Costco Shoppers of Mislabeling Error in Ravioli Product
The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) has issued a warning to Costco shoppers in Maryland and New Jersey regarding a significant mislabeling error involving Giovanni Rana ravioli. The product in question, labeled as 'Rustic Beef Sauce & Creamy Burrata Cheese' ravioli, may actually contain shrimp and lobster sauce, posing a potential health risk to individuals with shellfish allergies. This issue was discovered after the establishment received consumer complaints about the mislabeled product. The affected 32-ounce packages, marked with the establishment number '44870' and 'best-by' dates between May 14, 2026, and June 25, 2026, have been recalled. Although no adverse reactions have been reported, the USDA advises consumers to either discard the product or return it to Costco for a full refund.
