Six Arrested in Utah County Drug Bust, Significant Heroin and Methamphetamine Seized
Six individuals have been arrested in Utah County following a multi-week investigation into a drug trafficking organization. Detectives from the Utah County Special Enforcement Team and the Utah County Major Crimes Task Force targeted the organization, which was reportedly distributing methamphetamine and heroin in Orem, Springville, and Payson. Over Monday and Tuesday, authorities executed several search warrants, leading to the seizure of approximately 653 grams of heroin, 324 grams of methamphetamine, and $5,787 in suspected drug proceeds. The Utah County Sheriff's Office indicated that the amount of heroin seized could equate to roughly 6,530 individual doses, while the methamphetamine could account for approximately 3,240 individual doses. The Sheriff's Office stated that the Utah County distribution arm of the organization appears to have been disrupted.
