Los Angeles to Experience Warmer Temperatures Ahead of World Cup Game
Temperatures in Los Angeles are expected to rise this week, coinciding with the first U.S. men’s World Cup game on Friday at SoFi Stadium. According to the National Weather Service (NWS), an upper-level trough over the Pacific Northwest, which has been keeping temperatures cooler, is breaking down. This will lead to a warming trend starting Monday, with highs reaching the mid-70s to mid-80s along the coastal plain and mid-80s to mid-90s in the valleys by Wednesday. Desert areas could see temperatures approach 100°F (38°C). The NWS forecasts sunny conditions during Friday's 6 p.m. kickoff, with temperatures in the lower 70s°F (21-22°C), dropping to the mid-60s°F (18°C) by the end of the game. Wind advisories are also in effect for parts of Santa Barbara County and the I-5 Corridor through early Tuesday morning.
