MerleFest 2026 Kicks Off in Wilkesboro Amidst Varied Weather Conditions
MerleFest 2026 is set to begin on Thursday, April 23, 2026, at Wilkes Community College in Wilkesboro, North Carolina. This annual event, now in its 38th year, celebrates the legacy of Merle Watson with a diverse lineup of nearly 100 artists. While the festival is renowned for its bluegrass roots, it also features a wide array of musical genres, including folk, pop, R&B, jazz, and classical. Headliners include Alison Krauss & Union Station, Sam Bush, and the Steep Canyon Rangers. The festival is a significant cultural event in the region, drawing attendees from across the country.
