PCIe Gen 5 Switch Enhances GPU Communication for AI Models
A recent development in computer hardware technology involves the use of a PCIe Gen 5 switch to facilitate communication between multiple GPUs, enhancing their performance in AI model processing. The switch allows four GPUs to communicate directly with each other over PCIe Gen 5 peer-to-peer (P2P) connections, bypassing the host CPU after initial setup. This setup is designed to optimize the performance of AI models by creating a fast private network among the GPUs.
