ADNOC Plans to Double Oil Export Capacity with New Pipeline Amid Hormuz Closure
The Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) is set to double its oil export capacity through a new pipeline bypassing the Strait of Hormuz. The West-East 1 Pipeline, expected to be operational by 2027, will allow ADNOC to increase exports via Fujairah, outside the critical chokepoint. This development comes as the UAE exits OPEC to pursue its national interests, free from production quotas. The UAE aims to boost its crude oil production capacity to 5 million barrels per day by 2027, leveraging its spare capacity to meet global energy demands.
