NWS Confirms Three Tornadoes in Bexar County from July 15 Storms
The National Weather Service (NWS) has confirmed three tornadoes in Bexar County, Texas, following a severe weather outbreak on July 15, 2026. Two of the tornadoes were newly identified as EF-0 events after damage surveys. The first of these touched down at 5:20 a.m. in the Dignowity Hill District of northeast downtown San Antonio, with peak winds of 65 mph, a path length of 0.29 miles, and a width of 30 yards. The second tornado occurred at 4:25 p.m. near Burshard Road in east Bexar County, also rated EF-0 with similar wind speeds, a path length of 0.12 miles, and a width of 30 yards. Both caused minimal damage. These are in addition to a previously confirmed EF-1 tornado on the Northwest Side, which caused significant damage to an apartment complex and businesses at The Rim.
