Fundraiser Raises $1.7 Million for 88-Year-Old Veteran, Transforming His Life
Samuel Weidenhofer, an Australian creator, initiated a fundraiser for Ed Bambas, an 88-year-old veteran from Michigan, after sharing his story on TikTok. Bambas, who works as a cashier at Meijer supermarket, returned to work after his pension was cut and his wife passed away. The video went viral, leading to a massive outpouring of support, raising over $1.7 million. Weidenhofer personally delivered the news to Bambas, who was unaware of the amount raised due to not having a phone or computer. The funds are expected to help Bambas retire and pay off his debts.
