IIT Delhi Expands MTech Admissions with Self-Sponsored Seats for 2026-27
The Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) has announced new measures to expand access to its MTech programs for the academic year 2026-27. The institute will offer up to 30% supernumerary seats under the self-sponsored full-time category for students with a valid GATE score. Additionally, students from Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTIs) with a CGPA of 8.0 or higher can apply without a GATE score. These initiatives aim to widen access to postgraduate technical education and encourage participation from high-performing students across India. The admission portal for national candidates applying to MTech, PhD, and other postgraduate programs is now open, with applications due by April 11, 2026. Written tests and interviews for shortlisted candidates will occur between May 13 and June 15, 2026, with classes commencing on July 23, 2026.
