EIB and BIIC Launch €100 Million Initiative to Boost Benin's Agricultural Supply Chains
The European Investment Bank (EIB) and the Banque internationale pour l’industrie et le commerce (BIIC) have initiated a €100 million financing facility to enhance agricultural supply chains in Benin. This initiative, supported by the European Commission, aims to strengthen sectors such as cotton, soya, and cashew, which are crucial for both Benin's economy and European markets. The facility is part of the EU's Global Gateway strategy, which seeks to improve infrastructure and supply chains globally. The program also includes a technical assistance component to support sustainable finance and ESG assessment.
