TrendAI, formerly known as Trend Micro, has announced the closure of its Sydney engineering team, affecting 45 positions. The decision is part of a strategic move to consolidate research and development functions in Taipei, aligning with the company's growth and sustainability goals. The closure, set for June 30, is not attributed to economic conditions or AI advancements but rather to business optimization. TrendAI plans to maintain sales engineering and customer service functions in the A/NZ region, while focusing R&D efforts in North America and Asia.
