Vietnam Airlines Expands Fleet with 19 Additional Boeing 737 Max 8 Aircraft
Vietnam Airlines has announced plans to lease 19 additional Boeing 737 Max 8 aircraft as part of its long-term strategy to modernize its fleet. The airline, which is a member of the SkyTeam alliance, has signed lease agreements with three lessors: SMBC Aviation Capital, AIP Capital unit Phoenix Aviation Capital, and Avolon. These new aircraft are expected to be delivered starting in 2028. This move adds to an existing order of 50 Boeing 737 Max 8s that Vietnam Airlines confirmed in February. The airline aims to strengthen its network growth, improve operational efficiency, and meet the increasing demand for air travel.
