Costa Mesa City Council Approves Major Expansion of Skate Park to Include New Features
The Costa Mesa City Council has approved plans to significantly expand the Costa Mesa Skate Park, located at 900 Arlington Drive. The expansion will more than double the park's current size, adding 19,000 square feet to the existing 15,000 square feet of skateable space. The redesigned park will include a clover pool, new street elements such as rails and a manual pad, and a snake run. Additionally, a concrete pump track will be introduced, designed to allow riders to maintain momentum without constant pushing. The project, which is expected to begin in May and conclude by April 2027, will also feature maintenance repairs, new fencing, and additional street lighting. The expansion is being funded by $2 million in COVID relief money secured by County Supervisor Katrina Foley, along with park development fees and the city's capital improvement fund.
