Eastern Shipbuilding Group and Gulf County Launch Maritime Academy to Boost Workforce
Eastern Shipbuilding Group, in partnership with Gulf County and regional partners, has launched the Gulf County / Eastern Shipbuilding Group Maritime Academy. This initiative aims to develop a skilled maritime workforce by providing comprehensive training that combines classroom instruction, hands-on shipyard experience, and mentorship from industry professionals. The academy's mission is to prepare students for high-demand roles in ship construction, repair, and maritime operations. During a recent visit by Florida's Secretary of Commerce and economic development leaders, the academy showcased its impact through testimonials from graduates who have successfully transitioned into maritime careers.
