IAF Chief Advocates for Self-Reliance in Defense to Strengthen Indigenous Capabilities
Air Chief Marshal A P Singh, the chief of the Indian Air Force (IAF), has underscored the importance of self-reliance in developing robust indigenous defense capabilities. Speaking at the 48th Flight Test Course graduation ceremony, Singh emphasized 'Atmanirbharta' as a strategic necessity. The ceremony marked the graduation of 17 officers, including 14 from the IAF, one from the Indian Army, and two from the Indian Navy, from a rigorous 48-week training program at the Air Force Test Pilots School. These graduates will join the Aviation Wing of the Aircraft and Systems Testing Establishment, a key unit of the IAF. Singh highlighted the need to optimize 'design to delivery' time cycles while maintaining high safety and quality standards. He urged the officers to uphold virtues such as honesty, integrity, and precision, and to focus on capability building and modernization of the Indian Armed Forces.
