NAIC Elects New Officers for 2026; Virginia's White to Lead
The National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) has elected new officers for the year 2026. Virginia Insurance Commissioner Scott A. White has been appointed as the president. White, who has served as Virginia's insurance commissioner since 2018, has a long history with the state's Bureau of Insurance, having joined as a research analyst in 1998. The election took place during NAIC's fall national meeting in Hollywood, Florida. Alongside White, Elizabeth (Beth) Kelleher Dwyer, the director of the Rhode Island Department of Business Regulation, was elected as president-elect. Utah Commissioner Jon Pike was chosen as vice president, and South Carolina Department of Insurance Director Michael Wise was named secretary-treasurer. These officers will begin their duties on January 1, 2026. The meeting also saw the election of zone officers for various regions, including the Northeast, Southeast, Midwest, and Western zones.
