Representative Rashida Tlaib Discloses Investments in Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs Despite Opposing Crypto Legislation
Representative Rashida Tlaib, a Democrat from Michigan and a member of the 'squad,' has revealed investments in Bitcoin and Ethereum through her IRA accounts, according to her latest financial disclosure. Her Charles Schwab retirement account includes up to $15,000 in a Grayscale Ethereum Staking Mini ETF and another $15,000 in an iShares Bitcoin ETF. This disclosure comes despite her legislative record, which includes voting against pro-crypto legislation like the CLARITY Act and supporting a resolution to ban 'crypto corruption.' Tlaib's other investments encompass international funds focused on Europe and Asia, international bond funds, and a fund designed to hedge against exposure to the U.S. dollar. Her holdings are spread across a traditional IRA, a Roth IRA, and college savings accounts, with lawmakers only required to disclose assets in broad ranges. Both her Bitcoin and Ethereum investments were reportedly down for the year.
