San Francisco's Pro-Billionaire March Protests Proposed Tax Act
A march in San Francisco supporting California's billionaires took place, drawing approximately three dozen participants. The event, organized by Derik Kauffman, aimed to protest the proposed Billionaire Tax Act, which would impose a one-time 5% tax on individuals with a net worth exceeding $1 billion. Despite the small turnout, the march attracted significant attention on social media due to its unusual premise. Participants carried signs with messages such as 'We ❤️ You Jeffrey Bezos.' The event also saw a dozen counter-protesters and a large number of journalists. Kauffman, who is not a billionaire, expressed concerns about California's policies, including providing health insurance to undocumented immigrants, a practice shared by 14 states.
