American author and entrepreneur Derek Sivers has publicly lauded the Indian healthcare system, citing its affordability, speed, and accessibility to specialists. Following a recent medical treatment in India for a schwannoma behind his knee, Sivers shared his positive experience on X, expressing his intention to relocate to Bengaluru. He highlighted that an executive health screening, which cost approximately $5,000 at Cleveland Clinic in Abu Dhabi, was available for about $80 in Bengaluru. Furthermore, a neurosurgery estimated at $14,000 in New Zealand cost around $2,000 at a top Indian hospital. Sivers also noted the efficiency of the Indian system, where he could see multiple specialists within hours, a stark contrast to the weeks or months-long wait times he experienced in New Zealand.
