China's Animation Industry Boosts Box Office with Record-Breaking Success
China's animation industry is experiencing a significant surge, contributing to a revitalized box office performance. The success of Disney's Zootopia 2, which has grossed approximately $430 million, highlights the growing popularity of animated films in China. This trend began with Beijing Enlight Media's Ne Zha 2, which became the highest-grossing animated film globally, earning over $2 billion. Other notable successes include Shanghai Animation Film Studio's Nobody and Light Chaser Animation's Curious Tales of a Temple. The China Film Pavilion at CineAsia in Bangkok showcased these achievements, emphasizing the sector's growth and the increasing diversity of Chinese cinema. The pavilion aims to facilitate international film transactions and strengthen Sino-foreign cinematic partnerships.
