This decision follows disruptions caused by powerful surf in late July, which led to emergency repairs along the rail line in south Orange County. Crews have identified track erosion and damage to coastal infrastructure near San Clemente, prompting increased inspections and precautionary measures. The suspension is expected to last through Friday, as crews work to stabilize the affected areas and prepare for potential impacts from similar conditions this week. The Orange County Transportation Authority is also addressing long-term coastal resiliency issues, including sand replenishment strategies, in a public meeting scheduled for Tuesday.
