UK Police Seek £15m Partner for AI Deployment in Law Enforcement
The UK police forces, in collaboration with the Home Office, are seeking a lead delivery partner to support the creation of Police.AI, a national unit aimed at integrating artificial intelligence into law enforcement. This initiative, outlined in the white paper 'From Local to National: A New Model for Policing,' is backed by £115m over three years. The selected partner will assist in developing AI tools for policing, focusing on areas such as CCTV analysis, crime recording, and document translation. The contract, valued at £15m, is expected to commence in September, with a formal tender notice anticipated in June.
