Heavy Rain Triggers Flooding in Derry, Roads Closed
Heavy rain has led to significant flooding in parts of Londonderry, Northern Ireland, prompting emergency responses from the fire service. The Foyle Road is currently closed due to flooding between the Foyleside Roundabout and Craigavon Bridge Lower Deck. This weather event follows a period of unusually dry and warm conditions, with temperatures previously rising above the seasonal average. The City of Derry Jazz Festival, which is ongoing, has advised attendees to seek alternative routes to avoid the affected areas. The Department for Infrastructure has also issued a similar advisory for drivers to find alternative routes to ensure safety.
