Brain Injury Survivor to Participate in 5 Boro Bike Tour After Relearning to Ride
Patricia Hochhauser, a former school bus driver from Brooklyn, is set to participate in the 5 Boro Bike Tour in New York City, marking a significant recovery milestone after a traumatic brain injury. In October 2024, Patricia suffered a severe head injury from a scooter accident, resulting in a subdural hematoma and concussion. The injury left her with brain fog, vertigo, and memory issues, requiring extensive rehabilitation. With the support of her husband Harold, who fitted her bike with training wheels, Patricia relearned how to ride. Her participation in the bike tour symbolizes her resilience and determination to overcome the challenges posed by her injury.
