BAE Systems Unveils AI Role Player for Maritime Battle Training
BAE Systems has introduced an AI-driven role-player capability for its Mimesis maritime battle simulator. This new feature was showcased at the 2026 International Training Technology Exhibition and Conference (ITEC 26) in London. The AI role player is designed to simulate the movement and behavior of ships, submarines, and other platforms, replicating their capabilities including combat management systems, sensors, and effectors. Richard Goldstone, BAE Systems' business development lead for maritime simulation and training, explained that the AI role player can replace costly human role players traditionally used in training scenarios. The AI is trained to respond accurately to specific inputs, playing designated roles within the simulation.
