Adelanto ICE Detainees Report Poor Conditions Despite Court Order
Detainees at the Adelanto ICE Processing Center in Southern California have reported ongoing poor conditions, including contaminated drinking water, despite a federal court order mandating improvements. A video shared by detainee Carlitos Ricardo Parias shows worm-like creatures in a bottle of drinking water, raising concerns about the facility's sanitation. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has denied these claims, stating that the facility uses the same municipal water as the local community. However, immigrant rights attorneys have received multiple complaints about the quality of water, food, and medical care at the center. A federal judge recently ordered DHS and ICE to enhance conditions, including medical care and sanitation, but detainees claim little has changed.
