Baycrest Caps & Corks Bottleshop, a long-standing business in Costa Mesa, California, has closed its doors after 65 years. The closure comes after the property was purchased by a commercial real estate firm that decided not to renew the lease. The shop was known for its high sales of California Lottery tickets, having sold a $12.6 million winning ticket in 1994. Co-owner Bryan Nye expressed disappointment but acknowledged the property owner's rights. The shop was also a community hub, offering high-end spirits, wines, and craft beers, and serving as a social gathering spot for locals.
