Jonathan Gray, Former Editor of Dancing Times, Mourns Passing of Photographer Elliott Franks
Jonathan Gray, the former editor of Dancing Times magazine, has expressed his shock and sadness over the death of award-winning photographer Elliott Franks. Franks, who passed away at the age of 62, was a talented dance photographer and contributed to Dancing Times for many years. Gray described Franks as not only a marvelous photographer but also a kind and considerate person. Franks was also known for his extensive work within the Jewish community, capturing events and rallies, including those against antisemitism. His brother, Russell, announced his passing, noting that police do not consider the death suspicious, though the cause has not yet been disclosed to the family. Franks received numerous accolades throughout his career, including the Outstanding Commitment award from the Surrey Community Development Trust in 2009.
