Fiji Airways Suspends Nadi-Dallas Service Due to High Fuel Costs and Changing Demand
Fiji Airways has announced the suspension of its Nadi-Dallas service starting September 7, citing high fuel costs and changing demand patterns. Despite this suspension, the airline will maintain up to 11 weekly flights to the U.S. through Los Angeles and San Francisco, with onward connections available via American Airlines. The decision was confirmed by Fiji Airways CEO Paul Scurrah during the Fiji Tourism Exchange. The airline is also upgrading its Vancouver services to an A350 aircraft and increasing its Hong Kong flights. Fiji Airways is taking measures to minimize customer impact, offering flexible options such as rebooking, credit, or refunds. The airline continues to see strong demand from Australia and New Zealand, with record visitor numbers in March 2026.
