Israeli Civilian and IDF Soldiers Indicted for Espionage Activities for Iran
A civilian and three Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) soldiers have been indicted on charges of espionage for Iran. The individuals were arrested in March and are accused of maintaining long-term contact with Iranian intelligence operatives. According to Israeli security authorities, the suspects allegedly carried out security-related tasks at the direction of these operatives before their military enlistment. The investigation, conducted by the Shin Bet, Israel Police, and Military Police, revealed that the suspects photographed and sent images of various public and security-related sites, including train stations, shopping centers, and the Israeli Air Force technical school. Some suspects reportedly approached the Iranian handlers independently to request assignments, and they were also allegedly involved in vandalism and asked to acquire weapons.
