WHO Launches Guide to Enhance Psychological Self-Help Interventions Globally
The World Health Organization (WHO) has released a new guide aimed at expanding access to psychological self-help interventions worldwide. This guide is designed to assist program managers, implementers, and frontline helpers in integrating self-help models into existing health and community services. It provides practical steps for both unguided and guided self-help approaches, which have been shown to be effective for conditions like depression and anxiety. The guide includes tools and templates to support high-quality implementation and highlights two specific interventions: 'Step-by-Step', a digital tool for depression, and 'Doing What Matters in Times of Stress', a stress management program.
