LAPD Increases Patrols Following Rash of Burglaries in San Fernando Valley
The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) has increased patrols in the San Fernando Valley following a series of burglaries that have targeted homes in the area. Since April 11, nine homes have been broken into, prompting Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass to direct the LAPD to enhance their presence along Ventura Boulevard. The latest incidents occurred in Toluca Lake and the Hollywood Hills, where burglars stole high-value items such as jewelry and cash. The LAPD is employing additional resources, including mobile license plate readers and air support, to address the situation. The burglaries have raised concerns among residents, who have been demanding increased security measures.
