HCA Healthcare and March of Dimes Partner to Close Preeclampsia Prevention Gap
HCA Healthcare and the March of Dimes have partnered to launch the 'Low Dose, Big Benefits' initiative, aimed at improving preeclampsia prevention and awareness in communities across Houston and Miami. Supported by a $1.5 million grant from the HCA Healthcare Foundation, this initiative focuses on educating clinicians, patients, and communities about preeclampsia risk factors and the appropriate use of low-dose aspirin. Preeclampsia, a hypertensive disorder of pregnancy, affects one in eight pregnancies and can lead to serious complications for both mothers and babies. The program also supports quality improvement efforts in Federally Qualified Health Centers to integrate evidence-based recommendations into clinical practice, addressing the significant underutilization of low-dose aspirin as a preventive measure.
