Fugitive Arrested in Casa Grande Bar Shooting After Three-Week Manhunt
Tristen Lee Alvarez, 21, has been arrested in Casa Grande, Arizona, following a nearly three-week manhunt. Alvarez was wanted in connection with the fatal shooting of 37-year-old Jacob Encinas outside the Airport Tavern on August 15. The incident, which occurred around 1:45 a.m. in the bar's parking lot, escalated from a verbal argument between the two men, resulting in Encinas being shot once in the upper torso. Encinas was pronounced dead at the scene, while Alvarez fled, prompting authorities to issue a warning that he was armed and dangerous. Alvarez faces charges of first-degree murder, misconduct with weapons, and disorderly conduct with weapons. The Casa Grande Police Department, with assistance from the U.S. Marshals Service, apprehended Alvarez on September 3. The homicide investigation remains active.
