OpenBridge Launches Open-Source Code Library to Enhance Maritime Safety
OpenBridge has launched a comprehensive open-source code library designed to standardize digital interfaces in the maritime industry. Developed at the Oslo School of Architecture and Design, the system addresses the fragmentation of digital interfaces across maritime workplaces, which often leads to human error. The OpenBridge framework supports a wide range of maritime technologies, including augmented reality for navigation and advanced advice systems. The initiative aims to establish a global standard for user-centered maritime design, making it easier and cheaper for vendors to implement safety-standardized designs. The system has already seen significant global interest, with over 7,000 downloads of its design files.
