Severe Storms and Flash Flood Warnings Impact Middle Tennessee
Middle Tennessee, including Nashville, experienced severe weather on July 21, 2026, with flash flood warnings and severe thunderstorm alerts issued across the region. A tornado warning was briefly in effect for Dickson County until 9:30 p.m. CT. Heavy rainfall, with rates of 3 to 4 inches per hour, and wind gusts up to 60 mph were reported. Earlier in the day, a heat advisory was in place as temperatures soared with a heat index exceeding 110°F (43°C). The National Weather Service (NWS) warned of saturated soils due to recent rains, increasing the risk of flash flooding. Severe weather conditions are expected to subside by midnight, but a flash flood watch remains active until 7 a.m. on July 22.
